Mike Mady PRO Tom Brady
Tom Brady (PRO) – Brady is the reigning NFL’s MVP. After a recorded-breaking campaign in 2007, he further ascended the ranks of all-time quarterbacks. Oh, and the 31 year-old is in the prime of his career. Brady plays for one of the NFL’s most stable franchises and has one of the league’s most dangerous targets, Randy Moss. Many believe that Brady’s numbers from last season (4,806 yards, 50 touchdown passes, 8 interceptions) will be hard to match – and there is logic behind that belief. The fact of the matter is, fantasy owners can’t expect a 50 touchdown campaign from anyone, but it wouldn’t be unrealistic to invasion Brady throwing for over 4000 yards and 32-35 touchdowns, which would keep him among fantasy football’s elite.
Andy Goldstein CON Tom Brady
Tom Brady (CON) – So, was Brady's 2007 an anomaly? It's hard to say for two reasons. The first is that the Patriots never really had, well, competent wide outs until last season. (apologies to Deion Branch) Also, Bill Belichick never really wanted to horribly embarrass every opponent quite like he desired to last season. What we do know is that New England did lose one of their weapons in Donte Stallworth. Say what you will, but Stallworth, if nothing else, drew coverage which allowed for Wes Welker to have a big campaign. Brady also will probably yield more to the running game this year since Laurence Maroney was severely underused last season. If nothing else, no fantasy quarterback has lead scoring two years in a row (in most scoring systems) since Brett Favre in the mid nineties. That means it's someone else's turn, Mr. I Have the Perfect Life!
